Why you’re not making so much progress in your life and what to do about it.
Have you ever wondered why people who do not know as much as you do about a certain subject produce more results than you on the same subject? Then pay attention to every word in this article.
It’s a beautiful Tuesday morning here in the city of Minna. The rains were upon us last night through the early hours of this morning and the sun is in a good mood today and so it’s shining gentle this morning probably because of the rain (it’s 9:06 AM though but the sun here gets really aggressive sometimes 😉 )
Today, I’m writing you about an plague that’s eaten up several people in our generation so that you can escape from it’s grip.
I’ve been in different situations where people who know only so much produce tremendous results in areas I only wish I had results in. This can be a troubling experience which requires a great deal of humility to navigate.
While there are different reasons for this, one of the reasons that stands out among this people who produce results is this; they are action takers!
Imperfect Action Trumps Perfect Knowledge.
I’ve found that when you begin to pursue knowledge; it has a way of revealing your ignorance.
You’re amazed at the things you didn’t know existed and at the same time excited about the things you’re learning. This further propels you to go for more knowledge and the cycle continues.
However, what many people do not realize is that the acquisition of knowledge alone does not change much but it is the application of correct knowledge that makes the difference.
For example, so many people have heard that it is important to have a to-do list for each day to help you focus your resources (time and energy) and become more effective but for some weird reason they would make excuses why they cannot apply that knowledge yet and lie to themselves that they’ll apply it in future and yet they wonder why they’re so ineffective and never seem to get things done.
There’s a level of knowledge – an experiential knowledge – that comes from taking action based on what you know that you can never taste from reading alone.
This is true for every area of your life.
You’ve read that believers shall lay their hands on the sick for them to recover – when was the last time you did that?
You’ve heard that people want to be around those who care about and appreciate them – have you consistently implemented this in your relationships?
You’ve heard that tithing opens the heavens over you – are you a consistent tither?
There’s something else you should know about.
Consistency begets power.
Don’t be fooled to think that because you applied a certain knowledge once or twice and failed to get the results means that it doesn’t work. Or even worse; it doesn’t work for you.
It takes consistency to produce results.
Give it time.
Don’t throw away a life changing truth because you tried it a few times and did not get the results you anticipated. As you keep working it, something is happening to you. You’re being changed. Something about you is changing and aligning to enable you produce the result you desire.
So here’s all I’m saying; don’t be found in the cult of those who acquire knowledge without implementing it. They are the ones described as ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth. Authentic knowledge places a responsibility on you to come – take action.
