Whoever lives under the shelter of Elyon, will remain in the shadow of Shadday. – Psalms 91:1[NOG]
Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. Exodus 33:13-16 [KJV]
I believe your week has been productive.
In the last post, we looked at a different dimension of The Secret Place; we were helped by the Holy Spirit in understanding that the Secret Place of the Most High is the place where we are equipped with all we need to effectively fulfil purpose in life. In order to be optimally used of God, you need to step into the secret place and settle there until God finish the installation of His customized software fit for your life and destiny.
We continue on our journey into the understanding of the secret place of the Lord, I am positive our journey today would not be a waste of time. In this week’s edition, we trust God to expose us to the advantages, attractions and undercurrents of the presence of God. We trust God to impact us with a thirst for His presence in the secret place.
Apostle Joshua Selman of Eternity Network International ones said that “The devil can steal everything from you; but if the devil have no stolen you from the present of God, he had in the real sense not stolen anything from you”. the presence of God is everything to us – it is more important than all the wealth in the world, it is more important than taking possession of our promised land as seen from this statement credited to Moses, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here”. [see Exodus 33]. Moses had either learned by studies or by experience the incontestable importance of the Presence of God.
It is God’s principal desire for us to make His presence our dwelling place — and to remain there, settled with Him. It is true that God is omnipresent, it is true that God is everywhere but His manifest presence is not everywhere. His manifest presence is only with those who would chose to be in His Presence. Hear this: “You are as close to God as you want to be!” Yes God is omnipresent, it now left to you to want to or not want to access His manifest presence – for the manifest presence of God is different from His omnipresence. It without contradiction that God is everywhere, I am more be about his presence manifest in relationship, intimacy, in fellowship and redemption through Christ Jesus.
Our Father and God has a secret place for every one of us where He desires to dwell in with us. God desires that we have a secret place that’s accessible anytime, anywhere. It is a place where we can spend quality time with Him even in the midst of the violent and hectic world around us. A place where we would be lost in him.
Note that the presence of God which must be desired by each of us is also dangerous, this explains why Adam and Eve fled when they heard His voice in the Garden of Eden. The Holiness of God makes His presence dangerous and those who have made His presence the place of dwelling are dangerous in life. The presence bestows danger on all who spend time with it – “for though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil for I carry your presence”.
In as much as the presence is to be desired by all, the presence is a function of grace and favour. Moses said “If I have found favour in your sight please show me your ways that I may know you in order to find favour in your sight” (Ex. 33:13). Don’t miss this! Moses’ relationship with God was founded in the favour of God. It is only the favour of God that would prevent the dangerous nature of His presence not to destroy us. The presence of God begins with God’s favour. It is only because of His favour and grace that He makes fellowship with Him a possibility. The favour and grace has been made available in Christ Jesus, through His sacrifice on Calvary’s tree, we have access into the very presence of God.
The presence of God is available for intimate relationship, God from the beginning desired to have an intimate relationship with us, He made ways available to bridge the gap that was created by the fall of Adam. The sending of Jesus Christ was for the purpose of bridging the gap that stood between man and God. Jesus removed all the hindrances created by sin, especially the one affecting man’s experience of God’s presence. Jesus (Immanuel) made the presence of God possible for us. He promised the Holy Spirit would take us further in intimacy with His presence. Jesus personally promised that the personal presence – the Holy Spirit of God will never leave us. Ever!
The manifest presence of God is guaranteed to be with us forever, all we need do to humbly submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as we keep our secret place alive through intimacy with Him.
