Destiny contention or negotiation is one thing done in the secret place. It is in the secret place you receive the blueprint for your life’s assignment. It is only those who would determine to travail in the secret place that receives outline for the fulfillment of divine mandate, it is in the secret place youreceive the eternal order and protocol of your eternal mandate on earth.This is where you are loaded with the needed consignments for your assignment on earth.
Jacob had a glorious destiny but he was been challenged by family history, limitations on his name and the fear of death. In order to escape all these challenges, Jacob purposed to be alone. This presented the opportunity to contend for his destiny with the Lord, at the course of his contention for the divine mandate and destiny, one time struggling Jacob and a ‘supplanter’ became Israel – one who struggled with God and prevailed. The fulfillment of your destiny and divine mandate is dependent on the price you are willing to pay, the amount of time you are ready to spend in fellowship with the One who has mandated you and the battles you are willing to pay.
The man Jacob had the blessing on his life, he is from the lineage of blessing but all he ever got was gotten through laborious toils and struggles, hear this: we all have a call on our life, we would continue to struggle to find the place and application of our call without contending for the design and outline of your divine mandate in the secret place. Where you are gentle, there you’d settle. Jacob got his in the secret place, you can get yours too.
The man of God Moses received clarity on his assignment when he entered into the secret place. God said to him “Do not approach here. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground”. This tells the need to be holy to approach the presence of God to get our contract terms of service on the earth. Moses entered into the secret place with arguments and many high things exalting itself against the knowledge of God, but at the end of his destiny negotiations and contentions, all the arguments, thoughts and high things he brought were brought into captivity unto obeying and fulfilling his God ordained mandate. Moses’ dedication to the secret place granted him exclusive access to the ways of God concerning his assignment. In Psalm 103:7 we see how God made known His acts to the children of Israel, but to Moses He made known His ways.
Joshua the army general was noted for his service to his boss Moses, he faithfully served Moses and this positioned him to be served by others. Joshua enjoyed the presence of his master Moses but he enjoyed the presence of God more;
“So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.” – Exodus 33:11
Joshua was not only serving Moses, he deliberately service his altar with God, he spent quality time with God even when his master was leaving, he would stay back. This made God assure him of His continual presence.
“…As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not abandon you nor forsake you”. – Jos 1:5, Joshua received the scope of his assignment in the secret place of communion with God. You can quickly receive the breakdown of you life’s assignment if you would only make the secret place the place of your delight.
The man David was destined to be a giant exterminator, he never would have been able to step into that destiny save his growth experience in the secret place. David would say ‘I have killed lion and bear while tending my fathers flock in the presence of God, this uncircumcised Philistine would be like the dead lion and bear”.
You might be misunderstood by many, yet many would doubt you, many more would underrate and fail to appreciate you – no need to worries, the knowledge of you standing before God should be your stimulus and drive.
Real growth experience always come with struggles and contentions. If you keep avoiding contention, you are not qualified for growth, you will never experience real growth. The center of our attention can be on what we can individually obtain from God in the Secret Place, we must never lose sight of the Lord’s deep longing for the secret place of fellowship and intimacy, we must align to God’s intention for staying in the secret place waiting for us to come wait on Him.
Nobody correctly goes into the secret place and return unaffected. Jacob had his identity corrected, Moses had all arguments melted, Joshua received the sharpening of his spiritual senses, our Lord Jesus got the names of his disciples by an intimate with the Father.
In your desire to serve God and be mightily used by Him, you must ensure you keep the fire on your intimacy and love altar burning continually [Lev. 6:12], you must increase your pursuit of the knowledge of God through studying and meditating in the Word of God, make the secret place your place of dwelling and not the place you visit periodically when issues or challenges arise.
